The Baby Show, NEC Birmingham

Image
Last weekend, myself, OH, mum and MIL drove down to Birmingham for The Baby Show. The show is a great place to see many of the items you may need for your new journey and get a great deal! I wrote a list, which was a great help!, so I could keep track of what I needed, make notes and included anything else we hadn't thought of. After our 6 hour drive we made it and had no idea of what was in-store for us. We had expectations that it would be a relatively decent size, but when we got there it was massive and very busy! Mums-to-be, new mums and mums in general all swarming up and down the isles looking at everything on offer. We decided to look around first and get an idea of everything on show. On our second walk around, we started looking more in depth at things. We asked for demo's of the travel systems we were interested in, we asked questions about the furniture we liked and I asked many questions about bottles, sterilisers, bottle-making machines, breast pumps and acc

British Beauty Blogger & Clinique

In April the British Beauty Blogger teamed up with Latest In Beauty again for another amazing box. Apart from the fact LIB pull off some amazing boxes, I love how we can try some favourite products of the bloggers we all sit and read. My favourite items so far are the Sweet Pots Sugar Scrub & Lip Balm and the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion +. The lotion doesn't leave a residue behind and is quickly absorbed. The sugar scrub is handy to keep on my dresser and use every other morning or longer. During my pregnancy I've experienced having dry, cracked lips more often than usual. The box gives me a chance to try out new products with out the expense of buying full size products.

My 1st Trimester

Since finding out that we were pregnant, we decided to wait until our 12 week scan before telling anyone. I guess I wasn't totally expecting what was too come in my first 3 months, but I got there. My appetite totally changed, I went from been able to eat anything in site pretty much to being very picky. I don't think I've ever been that picky about food in my adult life, but it was an experience. I had nausea, but there was only 2 or 3 days where sickness really bothered me. I think I found myself telling my OH that I don't think I've felt that ill in those 3 months than I ever have in my life. But it's all part of the process. As your body adapts, many things change including hormones, skin and urinary system. Tiredness also effected me. I found that I could easily go for a nap every day for about a hour or so, and I loved it! As I'm coming to the end of my 2nd trimester, I will do another post in a couple of days on this. :)

Hi & Welcome

Hi, my name is Laura and I'm 30 years old. I am expecting my first baby with my OH and we're so looking forward to his arrival. Unfortunately, I was made redundant in February from my job due to the current situation in Oil & Gas. But, this has gave me a chance to do some decorating for out baby and catch up with other jobs around the house. I used to write a blog a couple of years ago about beauty and skincare but stopped because I didn't want to force my writing and not enjoy it. Given I have more time to focus on my post's, I wanted to start again and see how it goes. So here's to many more posts, hopefully! :)
